for string quartet (2 Vln, Vla, Vc)
Harmonicity represents the ratio between harmonics and noise in a sound. This piece explores the harmonics and noise which can arise from the cello's lowest string. Cyclical gestures framed in different settings continually come back to slowly morph the piece from start to end. The prime numbered overtones exist within the structure and rhythm of the piece as well, highlighted by the common denominator of all music: Phi (Φ), or the golden section.
